Emerald wiring help

I am advising as I have seen work on my own cars which do not suffer electrical issues over very large distances and durations. Log in or Sign up.

I’m not to sure what signal the Emerald creates as the Pin 1 converted rev counter didn’t work on MP3. Nothing on the back of my tacho other than three wires.

These 3 wires are not on the Ecu connector end, hence why I’m a bit stuck with them. Register a new account.

It’s possible the tacho is simply not compatible, but hopefully I can adjust the ecu output rather than emeralld to replace with a new tacho. Job done and thanks! I spoke to emerald and they sent me the following diagram, also said that the extra wires in the original picture are for a tacho pic up using dioades, I’ve got their tacho box so have done away with these.

Already have an account? If its the same the whole way through the rev range just take the needle off and re-position it. I’ve gone through the loom I got with the emerald and tidied it all up and covered it in a braided loom covering.


I decide to give this a crack and went about taking my instrument panel out, being a phase 1 dash it took all of 2mins and it was out!

Hopefully if it’s just triggered from numbers of pulses, and I can adjust the ECU pulses it should work Solder any joints and use heat shrink as much emeerald possible.
